At the end of the first quarter of the course, from IGNITE we have offered families the possibility of visualize progress of their children in our STEAM extracurricular activities through an advanced learning management system (LMS).
In your private area a general assessment of progress in class by their educator during this period and a set of graphic indicators that show their performance in various key skills. The interface allows you to easily navigate between different sections that provide an overview and makes it possible to go into detail about the activities and projects carried out during this period.
Una Progress bar shows the progress made during each quarter regarding completed technological challenges, information that is complemented with an explanation of the main learnings acquired and photos of the work done in these groups.
The report is complemented with the visualization of the special achievements obtained throughout the course. As part of the gamification methodology, students obtain different badges in recognition of projects that stand out for their quality and/or interest, as well as for especially innovative ideas successfully applied in the various prototypes.

The progress dashboard that shows the assessment of each student in different key skills is a very effective way to understand the dimensions in which we work with the IGNITE Method's guarantee of success..
In essence, we help develop key competencies and skills in six large areas:
STEAM Dimension: technological and scientific field. This includes, among others, computational thinking, engineering and the scientific method.
Personal Dimension: development of personal skills such as emotional intelligence or creativity.
Social Dimension: We enhance relational skills, including communication and teamwork.
Digital Dimension: Digital skills are worked on here, such as security, device management or content management.
Strategic Dimension: skills that provide a great advantage in managing complexity. They highlight skills that allow structuring thinking, such as systemic vision or resource management.
Citizen dimension: We develop awareness of sustainability as a basis for becoming responsible and supportive citizens, incorporating knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals
SLMS systems, the logical evolution of learning
At a time when artificial intelligence poses new and surprising opportunities in the field of education, learning management systems (LMS) are increasingly deploying their potential, facilitating the acquisition and structuring of knowledge, helping educators in their work and providing greater visibility to families. In our case we have based our development on the learning platform LearnDash, integrating a wide variety of plugin functionalities GamiPress to offer a more stimulating and complete experience. These are some of the advantages of using LMS solutions like this one in the field of extracurricular activities:
- Personalized Learning
LMSs like LearnDash allow educators to create courses and learning materials that are tailored to the individual needs of students. Through a variety of resources, such as quizzes, interactive lessons and fun activities, students can progress at their own pace and focus on areas that require more attention.
- Gamification, the architecture of motivation

In this sense, GamiPress is a plugin that integrates with LearnDash to add game elements, such as achievements, points and medals, to the learning process. Using LearnDash as their LMS platform and GamiPress as a gamification plugin, students progress, for example, through programming lessons and unlock achievements the moment they complete their video games. In this way, your STEAM score will grow until, at a certain point in the course, you level up. An interesting aspect to keep in mind is that STEAM levels (and scores achieved) are always preserved from course to course, visualizing the experience acquired by a student over time.
Each quarter, the indicators and assessments of each student are renewed, reflecting the progress recorded in this specific period of the course.
As we mentioned, students can earn special badges for their good work that also provide them with a good amount of STEAM points and therefore help them level up. The most prized awards are the so-called “Best of”, badges such as Creativity Whirl (Extraordinary Creativity Award) or Code Innovator (Most Imaginative Programmer Award) that are only awarded to one student in the class.
Ultimately, the application of LMS systems such as those used by IGNITE, greatly enhance the scope of our methodology, allowing offer more personalized, interactive and motivating learning. We will progressively incorporate new functionalities - some of them supported by artificial intelligence - to offer increasingly effective and enriching educational experiences.
