LEGO children's robotics®

In an era where science and technology have taken over the world, we have been forced to adjust to endless changes that have led to significant evolution. Education in the past does not compare to education today. Previously, schools were limited to basic teachings such as reading, writing, addition and subtraction. As time went by, we delved into other, somewhat more complex studies. Now children are living in a revolutionary educational era where their first steps are already beginning to look like impressive leaps. An initiative that achieved all this was the LEGO children's robotics®.

LEGO children's robotics® is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)  and in collaboration with the company LEGO®. Its purpose is to present technology to younger students in a more playful, entertaining and fun way. All this is done in order to encourage children to develop throughout their lives as great engineers and scientists.

La LEGO children's robotics® It is made up of a series of activities developed to foster the skills necessary to face the highest challenges of the new century. The LEGO children's robotics® It was the first cornerstone of this initiative and has been evolving rapidly, bringing more and more learning options to the little ones.

LEGO children's robotics® for problem solving

In each robotics project that is developed in the workshops or courses, children learn all kinds of procedures to solve all kinds of problems. Next, come the challenges that motivate the little one to compete to improve themselves. The intention with each project and challenge is to develop the child's full potential and stimulate their creative mind to think of new and fabulous ideas. In addition, he feels the confidence and security necessary to integrate and work as a team.

LEGO Robotics® in the funniest way!

Learning has never been so fun. Thanks to the tools robotics made by LEGO® as LEGO® WeDo and LEGO® MindStorms, Children can create small functional robots quickly and easily while feeling that in addition to learning they are playing and having fun. The idea with this learning method is that they can exploit their potential but without feeling pressured.

There is currently a wide variety of models that children can put together. Educational robotics kits come for various ages starting at 7 years old. In each kit we will find more than a hundred pieces that we are familiar with, normal pieces that we played with as children. But they also have a group of special parts that, together with a motor, are connected to the computer where the child will later begin to program his little robot to do relatively what he wants.

LEGO children's programming® WeDo 2.0

In recent years, LEGO® has created the latest generation of robotic models for children. These now no longer depend on cables but can be built and then work wirelessly, something that undoubtedly motivates the little ones much more. But the programming of these models is not complete at all, since the platform shows a completely subtle and practical graphic system for children.

Finally it should be added that in IGNITE Serious Play we value the 'open source' turn it is having LEGO® Educations, allowing the programming of your robots using SCRATCH. This allows us to design and implement richer and more transversal projects with 'tinkering', mixing various technologies as well as consumables such as wood, plastic, rubber, cardboard, etc.

So in short, the strategy now is to learn by playing.
