New extracurricular activity: MUSIC

For the next academic year 2019-20 we are evolving our dossier of STEAM technological extracurricular activities, especially from the 'A' of Art and Culture, incorporating the musical education.

Apart from the management of activities such as: Educational Robotics, Programming, 3D Design, Virtual Reality and Graphic Art, we are excited to inform you that we have a new educational offer.

As usual, activities can be carried out at the School or Institute in extracurricular format (noon or afternoon), as well as in complementary subject format (teaching hours).

This catalog of extracurricular music, work has been done in a very mature and conscious way, by pedagogues, concert artists, and music teachers, as a plan to improve the current offer of musical culture.

We wanted to divide the extracurricular activities of musical education childhood in 3 stages differentiated by age.

Children's music activities by age

• Activity AWARENESS MUSIC – CHILDREN from 3 to 5 years: MUSICAL AWARENESS

First contact with music and its characteristics. We will learn in a playful and fun way.

• Activity INITIATION MUSIC – PRIMARY from 6 to 7 years:INITIATION TO MUSIC

Introduction to reading and interpreting musical language, sheet music.

• Activity MUSIC – PRIMARY from 8 to 12 years: 'THE MUSICAL'

Complete activity that combines different disciplines of expression: corporal, vocal (singing) and theater.

• direct control of educational project, from 3 to 12 years old.
• Work based on Centers of Interest (a composer, a genre, a story, a musical work...) that vary each quarter (eg: Leonard Bernstein).
• Improvisation and Creation with the voice, body and classroom instruments as a method of playful and effective learning.
• Introduction of the contents of the Musical language based on voice, audition (recorded and live) and movement.
• Support of cards to work on spelling, reading and listening.
• Creating and editing an album with musical creations of the students and the scores worked in class.
• Use of interactive websites, apps and music writing software.

The importance of music in education It is very clear: Develop sensitivity, help grow, know, learn.

In the activity extracurricular music de IGNITE Serious Play offers an approach to musical language in a playful, sensory and creative way because we believe that children are very receptive based on play and imagination.

But at the same time the approach of the activity extracurricular music is essential in the presentation, sequencing and learning of the contents of the musical language, because we want to offer a solid base that allows continuing the musical studies to those students who are interested.
