Summer technology camp

This year Ignite was at the Kinobs summer camp teaching robotics and programming classes. For two weeks the children learned to assemble motorized machines, to assemble and program Mindstorms and to program with Scratch Junior. In addition to enjoying the pool where they cooled off between the morning and afternoon activity.

They were two intensive weeks where we did Steam activities. The methodology of the summer activity was structured in two parts, during the morning the children worked with Lego education material assembling simple and motorized machines and in the afternoon they worked with Lego Mindstorm material and programming with Scratch Junior.

During the mornings of the first days they did activities with instructions so that they learned how to mechanize and so that they could get started with the LEGO material. The last few days in the morning they prepared mini projects, such as an amusement park. In the late afternoons they created sumo players with Mindstorms and programmed drones that they could then test by flying them.
