1ts Term

In this first stage of the course, we are exploring the key parts of our robots and their components to familiarise ourselves with their functions, seeing how the incorporation of the motor allows us to perform increasingly complex actions. From the beginning we review basic mechanical concepts that we have already learnt in previous stages so that it also serves as an introduction for new students.
The technological challenges that we introduce in this stage help us incorporate new concepts in English and understand how they relate to each other, to apply them in solving design problems and challenges that test the mobility, stability or robustness of the model.
The specific components we use vary depending on whether we are working with models built with Makeblock mBot, LEGO Mindstorms EV3 or LEGO WeDo, but in any case distance sensors, optical positioning sensors, actuators and acoustic and light signal emitters are always involved.
In some groups we exercise our hands-on skills with a electronic controller card called Makey Makey in order to be able to develop more flexible and creative projects in which we can apply everything we have learnt.
The class is delighted with all these discoveries. We will continue moving forward together to see how far we get!
Igniter Attitude
You have started the course with a very good behavior and a great desire to learn technology!
