1st Term

Learning to program is like getting started in any language, first we incorporate a basic vocabulary, the foundations of our building, and then we climb levels of difficulty with more complex structures.
In the case of this course, we have been learning the basic coding blocks, in which each colour tells us what its function is: movements, sounds, variables, conditionals, etc. With these “blocks” we have built our first programs in an environment called Make Code Arcade, in which we can create classic platform video games from the 80s and all kinds of interactive stories.
After mastering the construction of a clicker, a game very suitable for getting started in the basic programming structures, we have launched ourselves into more complex challenges. In this case, our end of term Christmas project consisted of designing and programming a Christmas version of this game that can be shared with up to a maximum of 4 players at the same time!
Our learning objective is that during this initial period we lay the foundations of the language in order to be able to develop more flexible and creative projects. With this project, we have learned to customise and adapt a game to add new functionalities, something that programmers do every day in the real world.
We’ll be back next trimester with new creations!
Igniter Attitude
You have started the course with a very good behavior and a great desire to learn technology!
